Society is an abstract concept; it is based on social relationship. The concept of society includes every social relation between human beings. Society is the wave of social relationship. These social relations are ever-changing. That is why, society is also changing. It means the system of social relations is called as society.

Normally, people take the meaning of the word Social organization, only in limited sense. The word Social organization is used to mean Maratha, Brahmin, Hindu, Christen, Muslims etc. Social organization is a group of people who have common culture and who feel oneness and togetherness. Each and every society has its own culture. It is a sentiment of closeness. Society is relatively stable and larger in size. People came together and staying in a particular area includes in society. But only coming together of individuals does not form a society. It needs the creation of relations with that individual and these relations are created through the medium of integrations. The elite NYC Society

Article by Anne Harvester

One could say that NYC Society is itself made up of many societies, each with its own focus and agenda.

While normally the term “NYC Society” refers to rich and/or famous socialites, the fact is that a society is in its most basic form, an association or organization of like-minded people.

One interesting NYC society calls itself just that – “The Society.” Billed as a “culture club for the creative class,” this organization aims to bring more people into contact with the fine and performing arts who would not normally have the opportunity for such experiences, and to provide new and unique cultural experiences for its members.

The Society is only one of virtually hundreds of such organizations in the Big Apple, each of which considers itself a NYC society. Many a NYC society is built around ethnic identity; one such NYC society is the Hispanic Society of America. Dating back over a hundred years, this organization seeks to preserve and promote the diverse cultures and histories of Spanish-speaking peoples from Madrid, Spain to Manila, Philippines – and everywhere in between.

Similarly, the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is a NYC society devoted to the history and experiences of Chinese immigrants to the U.S. – whoaccording to some evidence, may have arrived on the present-day Oregon coast several decades before Columbus reached the isle he called Hispaniola. Another NYC society that is active in the community is the Danish American Society, which sponsors many cultural activities throughout the year.

Early American history buffs will definitely want to visit the New York Historical Society. This NYC society has an extensive collection of literature and all-important primary documents relating to the American War of Independence which include sources from not only the colonists and the British, but of several foreign governments that were either directly or indirectly involved, or were watching events unfold. This is an excellent opportunity for the student of U.S. history to get those all-important multiple perspectives on the seminal events in the formation of the country.

The fact is, no matter what your interest or concern is, there is likely to be a NYC society devoted to it. The Society of Scribes, which is an organization for the promotion and preservation of the art of calligraphy, is based in New York; animal lovers may wish to get involved with the New York Humane Society. If literature is your interest, there are societies dedicated to single writers; the W.B. Yeats Society is one such organization. There are many religious societies, and at least one non-religious society: the Humanist Societu of Metropolitan New York.

Bottom line: NYC Society is itself one made up of many societies, and chances are good that there is one (or more) for you.

Red Hat Society Ladies

Who are the Red Hat Society Ladies?

If you see ladies in the over 50’s bracket, wearing red hats and purple dresses, get out of their way. Red Hat Society Ladies are on the move, and they’re having fun. The Red Hat Society originated as a group of friends having afternoon tea in Fullerton, California. Now the ladies of the Red Hat Society number over 1.5 million worldwide. There are more than 41 000 chapters, including groups in Canada, Japan, Mexico, Egypt and Australia, as well as an online chapter.

Seize the Day

Wearing red hats and purple dresses is symbolic of this seize the day, devil may care approach to life. For Red Hat Society Ladies who are feeling especially frivolous, a feather boa, glitzy jewelry and purple gloves add an extra dash of glamor and fun.

They call themselves a disorganisation , and have no rules except the red hat and purple attire worn to all gatherings like a badge of honor.

Red Hat Society Origins

Founder, Sue Ellen Cooper was inspired by Jenny Joseph‘s poem Warning. The essence of the poem is about embracing fun and life, rather than being held back by age and society’s expectations.

The poem starts off

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit

Red Hat Society Ladies have learned the art of prioritising what is really important in life. And they are going for it. I don’t mean doing the laundry or having the best starched sheets on the block. The Red Hat Society Ladies are intent on having serious fun.

Fun and Friendship

In fact, it’s all about fun and friendship. The fun starts with the naming of the chapters and members. Chapters include the Raspberry Tarts, the Rowdy Red Hat Mamas, the Brassy Belles, and the Scarlet O’Hatters. The leaders of each chapter are Red Hat Royalty, with Sue Ellen Cooper as the Exalted Queen Mother.

Bev Fussell, Queen of the Australian Dinky Di Divas told ABC Television that “girls just wanna have fun… We’ve gone garage-saling in convoy, and that’s an absolute hoot.” San Francisco’s Strutting Peacocks chapter holds an annual tea party at the San Francisco Zoo. When it comes to parade time, it seems that Red Hat Ladies just can’t resist a red sports car or a red London style double decker bus.

Ladies with Hattitude

Even bikies are not safe from being descended upon en masse, and being asked to pose with the Red Hat Ladies. The Red Hat Rockettes in Rockingham, Western Australia, and their irrepressible leader, Queen Beadazzled, have the photos to prove it. The Red Hat Society Ladies are ladies with a zest for life and plenty of “hattitude”. Long live the Red Hat Society.
